Description
Atlas Engine NEMA 17 Closed-Loop Stepper Motors
The Atlas Engine NEMA 17 series by Summit Electronics is a versatile range of 42 mm two-phase closed-loop stepper motors designed for compact motion-control applications requiring accurate and repeatable positioning. Each motor is supplied with a factory-mounted encoder, providing position feedback for closed-loop operation with a compatible controller. With a standard 1.8° step angle, the NEMA 17 range provides a flexible motor platform for applications including automation equipment, robotics, 3D printing, laboratory equipment and compact CNC systems.
The series includes multiple motor lengths and torque levels, allowing engineers to select the right balance between motor size, holding torque and available installation space. The Atlas NEMA 17 portfolio ranges from 34 to 60 mm motor length, with holding torque from 0.31 Nm up to 0.80 Nm and rated motor currents from 1.7 A up to 2.0 A. The integrated encoder adds direct position feedback without requiring a separate encoder installation, simplifying the mechanical integration of a closed-loop motion system.
Atlas Engine NEMA 17 motors can be used with compatible closed-loop stepper controllers and are ideally combined with the Atlas Control platform for an integrated Summit motion solution. The encoder feedback allows the controller to monitor actual motor position, making the motor suitable for applications where position verification and reliable motion are important.
For OEM applications, Summit Electronics can also support product customisation on request..
