NEW: Atlas stepper motors launch
24-08-2026
Summit Electronics introduces Atlas, a new series of stepper motors and controller modules designed for OEMs and engineering teams developing compact, reliable motion applications. The range consists of single-axis and three-axis controller modules complemented by Engines, a complete range of stepper motors with a authentic Dutch design. Together, they provide a flexible motion platform that allows customers to match the right motor and controller to their specific application requirements.
The stepper motor is provided with Trinamic technology including coolstep, micro-stepping, stealthchop and stallguard. The stepper motor independent system is compact with a competitive price. The controller modules are equipped with ultra-low-noise chopper mode, a way to drive the motor with very high efficiency, and a programmable stall guard. On the back of the PCB a Hall sensor is placed to allow for a closed loop system without the need for an encoder. If an encoder is preferred, this can also be used and connected to the encoder connector on the PCB. To allow for versatile use cases, the controller boards features a CAN bus with 2 connectors making the board suitable for “daisy chaining”. Other than that it offers 2 isolated 24V tolerant Inputs, outputs and 1 analog port for connecting external electronics.
The Atlas series will be officially introduced at WoTS in Jaarbeurs Utrecht and Embedded world North America, both starting on 22 September 2026. You find Summit electronics at the WoTS 9B-054 or at ewNA B-6807.
Designed to make motion integration more straightforward
Motion control is often treated as a separate integration challenge: selecting a motor, tuning a controller, managing noise and ensuring reliable availability. Vector is developed to make that process more straightforward. The compact controller modules combine proven ADI Trinamic motion-control technology with a practical, engine-independent architecture, giving designers more freedom to build the right solution without unnecessary complexity.
“Atlas marks an important next step for Summit Electronics,” says [Chris Derksen, General Manager of Summit Electronics]. “We are expanding our portfolio with a motion platform that combines performance, flexibility and availability. It enables customers to move from a motion requirement to a practical, production-ready solution more efficiently.”
A focused step into Motion
With Atlas, Summit Electronics adds a dedicated Motion product group to its portfolio. The range is aimed at applications such as industrial automation, laboratory equipment, robotics, dispensing systems, smart devices and compact machinery, where controlled movement, compact integration and dependable supply are essential. Atlas products have been developed in the Netherlands and are positioned to offer reliable quality, fair pricing and short lead times. The Atlas ranges will be available from September 2026.
