What interface is used for a CTP?

A Capacitive Touch Panel (CTP) needs a way to communicate with your device’s processor and the interface you choose can affect speed, integration complexity, and wiring.
The most common options:
- I²C (Inter-Integrated Circuit) – Most popular, low pin count, great for short-distance on the same board.
- SPI (Serial Peripheral Interface) – Faster than I²C, used when higher data speeds are required.
- USB – Easiest for plug-and-play setups, common for large touchscreens or external devices.
