What is FALD (Full-Array Local Dimming)?

14-10-2025

If you need high contrast and rich image detail, FALD might be the backlight solution you're looking for.

FALD places a full matrix of LEDs behind the screen – not just on the edges.

These LEDs are divided into local zones that can dim or brighten independently, depending on the content shown. This enables:

• Darker blacks
• Brighter highlights
• Improved contrast
• Less “halo” effect than edge-lit designs

FALD is commonly used in:
• Medical monitors
• High-end industrial displays
• Premium TVs and signage
