Description
Atlas Engine NEMA 23 Closed-Loop Stepper Motors
The Atlas Engine NEMA 23 series by Summit Electronics is a range of 57 mm two-phase closed-loop stepper motors developed for motion-control applications requiring higher torque together with accurate and repeatable positioning. Each motor is supplied with a factory-mounted encoder, providing position feedback for closed-loop operation with a compatible controller. With a standard 1.8° step angle, the NEMA 23 platform is suited to applications such as industrial automation, robotics, positioning systems, CNC equipment and other machinery requiring increased mechanical performance.
With eight available motor configurations, the Atlas NEMA 23 range gives engineers significant flexibility when matching holding torque, motor length and current requirements to the mechanical load. Motor lengths range from 41 to 112 mm, with holding torque from 0.50 Nm up to 2.80 Nm and rated currents ranging from 2.0 A to 4.2 A. The integrated encoder adds direct position feedback without requiring a separate encoder installation, simplifying the integration of higher-torque closed-loop motion systems.
Atlas Engine NEMA 23 motors can be used with compatible closed-loop stepper controllers and are ideally combined with the Atlas Control platform for an integrated Summit motion solution. The encoder feedback allows the controller to monitor actual motor position, making the series well suited to applications where higher mechanical loads must be combined with position verification and reliable motion.
For OEM and specialised applications, Summit Electronics can also support customisation on request.
